The team on the whole have been together now for nearly 10 years. The long serving players are Kevin Thomas, Stuart Pattemore, Keith Knight, Chris Taylor, Adam Boothroyde, Matt Boothroyde, Stuart Ralph and David Whitehead.
We have had considerable success over the years winning the various divisions of the Leatherhead league, four cup finals and been runners up/finalists on several other occassions.
The most significant achievement was reaching the Surrey Senior Cup Final in the 2005/2006 season, although we lost 4-2, this was the first time an AFC Ewell team in the clubs history had got to this stage.
We continue to strive to win the Premier division, which we lost in the 2005/2006 season on goal difference to Ashtead, who are the current champions once more.
Last season was one of the most disappointing in the history of our Sunday side. We suffered from injuries and lack of numbers and this prompted a meeting to decide the way forward for the remaining squad of players.
A lot of issues have been sorted out and put to bed and we now look forward with renewed optimism.
The squad has been bolstered with new recruits and our aim for the season as always is silverware and as much as possible!
This year though another goal is to make sure we do this in the right way with a high level of discipline.
