A Pre-Season Statement from the Chairman
We are little more than a week away from the start of the new AFC Ewell season and the excitement is building up. There has been a bit of re-grouping and recruitment and I am now assured that we are almost ready to to go and bring home some silverware. A couple of teams have fallen away during the rest period, but I am certain that those that remain will do us proud. I would like to welcome the manager, Alex Churcher, and the players of former Premier league side Ewell Village United, following their successful merger with our first team. The first team, under the new management of Alex, Chris Taylor and Joe Kevin, hope to resurrect their fortunes and challenge for honours once again. I would also like to welcome Andy Drummond as the new manager of the Under 14b's and wish him and his team well for their first season together.
The club continues to grow and Gary Ansell has once again developed and Under 7's team with more young players wishing to take their first steps in football with AFC Ewell.
So polish up your boots, straighten your shin pads, pull up your socks and pull on the treasured shirt of AFC Ewell. Play with pride, passion and skill, always remembering the club ethos. To our supporters, I ask you to encourage, enjoy and respect and continue our fine tradition for fairness in football. All the best for the coming season.
